Allow me to describe the perfect day.

Thursday May 8, 2008, the alarm woke me up at 5 o'clock, I got up quickly and started to get ready because we are going on a trip. After some time I was ready and got on the much expected trip. The bus was waiting for us in front of the high school so we met up and quickly got there. After about 45 minutes we left Rosiori and headed towards Bucharest. At 10 o'clock we reached the Romanian Parliament, where we had a 1 hour tour.

The purpose of our visit in Bucharest was to present the projects we created and applied in our town through the "Civically responsible youth of today, a guarantee for tomorrow's democracy" project organized by the Youth Forum Association.

Although I was my high school's representative and had to give a short speech on our project (I took about 7 minutes), when we entered the conference room I was amazed by the organization and also that I wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be. We sat down and I was the third person after the moderator to start speaking. What gave me strength and courage was the reaction of the people in the room: classmates, teachers, deputies and other guests who raised their heads in order to listen to me (imagine the waves at a concert). After an hour we wrapped it up at the Parliament and headed towards Mr. Mark Taplin's house, U.S. Ambassador in Romania. As he told us, of course kidding, our main objective there was lunch. But we didn't have lunch until we presented him and his guests the projects that we had been working on since our last meeting in September. They were very receptive and so we forgot all about being nervous and even about the food. Then we had to leave Kiseleff and head towards Cotroceni Palace.

Having arrived an hour earlier than expected, we quickly changed into our festivity outfits (for the 6 o'clock reception, on May 8 at the Cotroceni Palace) and then went for a walk in the Botanical Gardens. Because our legs were hurting, I sat down with the radio colleague and we kept our eyes on the clock, not to be late. As it was to be expected everyone left us behind in the Botanical Gardens.

In an unpleasant hurry ... hearing everyone say ... "Hurry up. The President will come down in 7 minutes... hurry up girls, he will be down in 4 minutes" we managed to get to the Palace in time and caught Mr. Basescu's entire speech and be amused by a joke on Mr. Vadim. The evening ended beautifully with a song by Mr. Ionel Tudor's orchestra.

Last night I was talking to a friend on the bus about how exhausting being a celebrity is. We were really tired and our feet were so swollen that we could barely walk.
All in all it was a perfect day, with flawless organization, good food and special people (by the way I forgot to tell you that it was Ambassador's Day and I got to meet the Ambassador of Holland at the Cotroceni reception).

Only by getting involved can you succeed!!!
